A Thrift Shop Find

The other day I was at a second hand store. I was wandering around, while passing the toy section I saw a breyer! He was with a bunch of baby toys and barbie dolls. And for only a dollar, how could I pass him up?

He's a little traditional Arabian foal on the Running Foal mold. He's a light bay and rather beat up. For sure going to get painted, most likely into a similar bay colour. Enough talk, here's the little guy.

Isn't he just adorable in his little halter?!
Sorry about the icky pictures, the lighting isn't too good.

My first thrift store find, and he has a bright future.

Western Saddle

I made a western saddle. Yes, I made an actual saddle. I know, I can barely believe it too.

It turned out very nice for my first saddle! Especially since I don't ride western and know pretty much nothing about the saddles and their construction... I have learned much while making this saddle! Although I still don't know the purpose of the back jockey... It's still not completed but almost!
That's enough blabber, here's the saddle.

The "bad" side

As you can see, I'm not quite done. I still need to make and add sturrips and possibly the Cheyenne roll. I'm going to need to consult the reblog for making western sturrips that Braymere posted...

The saddle and bridle (shown in previous post) also look great on Ravel. Surprisingly, the saddle also looks REALLY good on Sato.  I made it on John Henry, my main westerny horse.

Little Dapples

I've recently been working on a dapple grey stablemate Warmblood mare. She's not quite finished.  For my first try at this colouring and dapples (which are even more difficult on a small scale!) I think I did pretty well. The pastels became grainy and icky.. But she looks very nice over all.

I still need to darken up some places, do her mane and tail, eyes, hoofs, and markings. She's probably my favourite custom yet! I'm hoping I don't mess up the eyes, tips anyone?!

Also, name suggestions? I feel that this girl's name worthy!!

Jump Rings

Recently, I've been making my own jump rings. Big whoopee, right?
Yes, I know it's not the most interesting but your just going to have to be happy until something cool happens and amazing posts come. Sit tight.

Anywhoo, here they are!

From traditional scale to stablemate!

For my birthday, which was the end of June, I got this cool magnifying glass with clippy things. It's been very useful for making and gawking (heehee) at my creations. I also got several horse shaped objects, no traditionals (you would have heard long ago), but a classic and several Schleich, all to be seen.
Please be expecting better posts soon!
